Make Sure Your Exotic Car Rental Fleet Is In Top Shape

Automotive Blog

If you run an exotic car rental company, then it is very important that you keep your fleet in great shape. When people rent a normal car, they might not be too particular about the car, but when someone rents an exotic car, they are going to be extremely picky. They are paying a high premium to rent these cars. It's a different clientele than someone who rents a car to go on a trip. Many exotic cars are rented by people who simply want to experience driving a super expensive exotic car that they might not normally get to experience. So it's important to them that everything be perfect. Here are some areas to take care of.

Don't Let The Interior Get Busted Looking

If the car looks nice in the photo, or from a distance, but when the customer opens the door they find cracked leather, dirty floor mats, or burst stitching, then they might just walk out and look for another place. People want to get the luxury experience, and a old, beaten down driver's seat and scratched up dashboard certainly isn't that. So if there are problems, get it detailed and taken care of.

Fresh Tires and Rims

People always want to see clean tires and rims. Again, you're not dealing with an inventory of standard sedans where people are looking for a vehicle that will take them from point A to point B. They want something beautiful, and tires and rims are part of the process. Ideally, you should have someone on your crew that handles this as soon as the car is returned. The tires and rims need to be cleaned after each rental. However, if they have gotten old, it's best to get a new set of tires.

Replace Stolen Decals

This one is always a big issue when you rent out exotic cars. The person might park the car on the street while going to a nightclub or restaurant, and some person walking by might seize the opportunity to pry off that stallion or trident (Ferrari and Maserati, respectively). Some rental companies simply leave these off (especially side decals which are not as prominent as front decals), but that is a mistake. It's important to remember that the people renting these cars have probably been looking at photos of them online for a long, long time. Maybe they have even been to auto-shows to look at them. So it's very likely they will notice the missing decal and be upset.

Deal With Any Transmission Problem ASAP

Not everything has to do with the "look" of the car, some things have to do with the way it handles. And the most important thing you can do is make sure the transmission is in perfect condition. Exotic cars are prized for their amazing engineering. When the customer sits behind the wheel and revs the engine on a powerful V12, and drives down the road, they don't want to feel the transmission slip. A rough ride is going to be incredibly disappointing. The customer might end up leaving a bad review, which could lose you tons of business. So deal with any transmission problems the moment they show up. It may be a good idea to work with a transmission shop that can fix your cars on an as-needed basis.

Choosing The Right Car

When I started focusing a few months ago on finding the right car, I quickly found that my search was going to be a lot more exhaustive than I thought it would be. I found myself combing through lots of different car lots, and it was really overwhelming. Fortunately, I had a few really great friends and family members, and they seemed to know everything about choosing cars. They helped me to sort out which cars would be a good fit for my lifestyle, and which ones I should probably pass on. I learned a lot through the car searching process, and so I made a blog all about finding the vehicle of your dreams.
